It was a tense, sort of surreal moment as Don communicated to through Yahoo! Messenger, and Kevin through AIM... both seeking draft glory. Don was able to get some. Kevin might one day get some...
Let's run through the wreckage that was the first ever FFB Keeper Experience expansion draft.
Don Juan Mothershed - "Longies"
Carson Palmer (A+) The best pick to make in the expansion field. I'll admit for you Don that you were actually looking to go Derek Anderson here because we can laugh about it now.
Willis McGahee (B) Both Don and Kevin wanted McGahee badly, which was a little weird. He's pretty much hit his ceiling and potential superstar Calvin Johnson sitting there for the taking.
Greg Jennings (A) Kevin taking soon to be suspended Brandon Marshall was the best thing to happen to Don, even if he really wanted Marshall as well. Jennings could be fantastic value. I smell trade! (Don't do it, Don).
Roy Williams (B) This was the safest and logical pick for who was left in the draft. Nice pick.
Dallas Clark (B) A safe pick, but probably one that has the least chance of being a long-term option as the season continues (thanks Dan).
Kevin Le Duc - "Alf II"
Clinton Portis (B+) Portis has the best chance to score points but not sure if he couldn't have gotten Portis later, and gone for a potential blue chipper like Johnson. A safe but not very imaginative first pick.
Brandon Marshall (C+) As it becomes more and more likely that he'll miss some games this season (at least two, probably three), and because Jay Cutler is still his quarterback ("that's my quarterback...sniff..."), I didn't quite get this pick out of all the guys Doug had on his squad.
Brandon Jacobs (B) Let's hope he stays on the field this year. Will be an asset if he can. History says he might not.
Julius Jones (C-) Ewwwwwwwwwwwwww.
Donavon McNabb (B-) One person on SWEEP THE LEG!!! was sad to see him go. The guy writing this article was not. Enjoy the 10 games he'll give you.
Good draft, everyone!
