Source: Addai and #1 pick changing hands

ESPN.com's Chris Mortenson is reporting that multiple sources from both SWEEP THE LEG!!! and CedricBenson4Pres. are talking about a major pre-season swap, that could see Joseph Addai and the first pick in the 2008 changing teams. CB4P finished 2-10 last season in route to the worst record in the league. STL!!!, under solo ownership last season was the loser of the FFB KEEPER EXPERIENCE II Bowl, a runaway victory by reigning champion Matt Escher.

While the exact particulars of the deal are not yet fully known (since deals can't be confirmed until August 23rd), there is now rampant speculation that CB4P owner Ryan Root will be shipping off his #1 pick as well as oft-injured WR Plaxico Burress for Addai and Carolina starting RB DeAngelo Williams.

Sources from the STL!!! camp at their training facilities on Coronado Island are saying that the deal is all but done, pending league commissioner Britton Dennis' approval.

If this move is confirmed, this would signal a significant shift in STL!!! policy. STL!!! has long been famed for building around solid pieces that will consistently perform, but this move invites much more risk and uncertainty depending on who they select with the #1 pick.

There have been no rumblings so far as to who owners Dennis and Ben Bates will take with the pick, but the safe bet is that they will target Anquan Boldin, one of Doug Downing's dropped receivers, or possibly Derek Anderson with the first pick in the draft.
